The Supreme Court just delivered two major victories for constitutional principles and conservative values – and it's a powerful reminder of why the Senate's role in confirming judges is so critical.

Here's what happened:

VICTORY #1: Universal Injunctions Reined In

In a decisive 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court struck down the abuse of "universal injunctions" – where single activist judges could block presidential policies nationwide. This judicial tactic has been increasingly used against President Trump, with over 40 universal injunctions issued against him in just five months – more than in the entire 20th century! The Court's ruling protects the constitutional separation of powers and prevents radical judges from overriding the will of the people.

VICTORY #2: Parental Rights Upheld

In another 6-3 decision, the Court sided with parents who wanted to opt their children out of inappropriate LGBTQ+ curriculum in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Court affirmed that parents have the fundamental right to direct their children's religious upbringing and that schools cannot force radical ideologies on kindergarteners and elementary students against their parents' wishes.

These victories show the power of a conservative Supreme Court – but they were only possible because we had the Senate votes to confirm principled justices who wrote the crucial opinion on universal injunctions.

 

THE SENATE IS THE FIREWALL

The Senate is the last line of defense against radical judicial nominees. Every Supreme Court justice, every federal appeals court judge, every district court judge must be confirmed by the Senate.
