I can't stop thinking about the families who lost everything this weekend.

John — I’m holding the families across Central Texas in my heart as they navigate unimaginable grief.

The flash floods that tore through Texas Hill Country claimed at least 100 lives and left families, volunteers, and search and rescue crews sifting through debris for missing loved ones. A girls' summer camp was among the hardest hit as rivers rose with devastating speed.

Let me be clear: This should never have happened. No one should have to endure the heartbreak of losing a loved one to a preventable disaster.

What happened in Texas is a direct consequence of the climate crisis, supercharged by warming temperatures that create extreme rainfall events. And while the Trump administration and Republicans in the states roll back climate protections and hand more power to fossil fuel companies, it's everyday families who will continue paying the ultimate price.

We need to confront this crisis at its source by electing climate leaders who will stand up to the fossil fuel industry and fight for the bold action our communities deserve.

JanePAC is at the forefront of that fight. But while we build that political power, the most immediate way to help our neighbors in Texas is through direct relief. The Kerr County Flood Relief Fund is distributing funds directly to organizations providing flood assistance to the hardest-hit communities, including Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort.

If you're able to help, please consider making a donation today to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. Your support will make a real difference for these grieving communities >>>

Thank you for showing up when it matters most.
