I was on CNN recently to discuss another case my office brought against the Trump administration—the one is to block the President’s illegal order that purports to end birthright citizenship, and the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision to limit the power of nationwide injunctions. Please, if you have time, take a moment to watch my interview and pitch into my campaign for Governor:

Our case is not a complicated one. The fact that Donald Trump is even disputing the 14th Amendment’s clear language on birthright citizenship is an affront to the simple text of the Constitution.

One district judge even said this is the most unconstitutional action he had seen in 40 years on the bench!

But the Supreme Court’s decision to use our lawsuit as a tool to curb nationwide injunctions sets a dangerous precedent—one that leaves some people in some states with certain rights, but denying them to people in other states. That’s not how the rule of law should work. It is so wrong to allow this flagrant abuse of power and unconstitutional action from the Trump administration.

I will continue to defend the rule of law and protect the constitutional right of birthright citizenship. I will continue to fight the lawless actions of this federal administration, because the truth is, the Constitution does not grant the President unbounded power.
