All eyes are on Virginia, folks.
Why? We’re the first test of Democrats’ strength since Trump took office again. This November, voters will decide whether we expand our razor-thin Democratic majority in the Virginia legislature and flip the Governorship.
Then next year, Republicans are eyeing my seat as an opportunity to expand their majority in the Senate.

In elections as crucial as these, outside spending could very well make all the difference.
And right now, Republicans have the advantage: news broke that a GOP super PAC has committed as much as $2 million to elect Republicans this year – that’s on top of the $600 million Donald Trump’s campaign has raised this year to expand his control of Congress.
With so much at stake in Virginia over the next two years, we can’t afford to be complacent. We need to be ready to fight back against this Republican cash haul. Just look at what Republicans have done in the Commonwealth over the past 171 days of Trump’s second administration:
- Driven up unemployment
- Fired thousands of federal workers
- Tore away health care from 323,000 Virginians with Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill
- Cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans while raising prices for Virginians
Losing Virginia’s critical elections will have more real, detrimental consequences for folks all across the Commonwealth.
