Friend — Since we reached out last week with news that multiple Senate seats are now in play, folks from all over the country have been pitching in — many making their first donations ever — and many starting monthly contributions.
We have a real shot here: The Montana Senate race — which had been rated "lean-Republican" — is now a toss-up. North Carolina is polling within the margin of error. Senate races in Arizona, Colorado, and Maine are also close.
No one could have predicted this a few months ago.
The catch is that any one of these races could decide the majority in the Senate. We need to step up our electoral program
across the board — which will take resources we don't have right now.
Recognizing the urgency of the moment, a generous donor has put up a challenge match to triple every donation made to LCV Victory Fund up to $250,000 through the end of this month.
Friend — this could be a game changer. Will you make a triple-matched emergency contribution today? Just $5 will make a huge difference »
We need to go big right now. Scientists have warned that we're facing our last chance to really address the climate crisis. To seriously pull that off we need to elect leaders at every level of government who will heed the warnings of scientists and put an end to Trump's racist and destructive policies.
Here's the challenge: the shifting political landscape means we need to move quickly, be nimble, and — most importantly — maximize resources.
Arizona, Michigan, and North Carolina all have must-win Senate races, but each of these states are also critical presidential battleground states where LCV Victory Fund is already running a series of high-impact, high-frequency ads and mail to expose Trump's environmental record to voters. We're supplementing this presidential program with data-driven, message-tested voter contact focused on the Senate races.
Just this week in Arizona, we're unveiling a new TV ad exposing Senator Martha McSally's record of siding with Trump and Big Polluters that puts the health of Arizona families at extreme risk. Faced with a barrage of negative attacks from polluter allies, we also launched an aggressive ad campaign in Michigan touting Senator Gary Peters' record of tirelessly fighting for clean drinking water. This is just the start of our plan to wrestle control of the Senate away from Mitch McConnell.
Over the last few months, we have witnessed a series of epic leadership fails. Now that is showing up in the polls:
New data show that in four key swing states, voters are turning away from Trump, by growing margins. It's his racism. His denial of science. His failure to live up to this moment.
Things are changing, quickly. Just a few months ago, winning a pro-environment majority in the Senate was a longshot.
But now, the path is clear, and it is winnable. The environmental movement is going to be key to that outcome. We can't afford to leave anything out on the field. We need to mobilize now like we never have before.
The challenge deadline is the end of the month. Friend, I'm asking you to help us run this program by making a donation today. Even $5 is enough to make a difference right now »
We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but it's nothing we can't do together. Thank you, friend, for being a part of this historic fight.
Let's win this thing.
