TODAY: Tell your Supervisor: Block the RV ban!
The Board of Supervisors is considering a measure to ban people from living in San Francisco in recreational vehicles by prohibiting them from parking on City streets.
This is a punitive, wasteful measure that would force these San Francisco residents into living on the street instead. Street homelessness is a big enough problem already—the Supervisors shouldn’t make it worse.
The ban will be heard in committee TODAY, Wednesday, July 9. The committee hearing starts at 10 AM. You can give public comment in person or via email, or call your Supervisor directly.

No Secret Police Act: Mobilize Our Governor, State Legislature, and Board of Supervisors
Indivisible National is highlighting the need to pressure state officials to pass bills such as California’s No Secret Police Act. As they state:
Over the last six months, we’ve witnessed an alarming rise in disappearances, surveillance, and secretive operations targeting immigrants, international students, researchers, leaders of organizations, protestors, and even elected officials—often under the guise of federal law enforcement. Across the country, individuals have reportedly been abducted by masked, unidentified officers, taken without notice, and detained without immediate access to lawyers or families. In many cases, those targeted have not been accused of a crime, only of participating in protests, speaking out about U.S. foreign policy, or simply being present at immigrant-heavy protests and institutions like universities. In other cases, they are alleged to have obstructed or assaulted law enforcement, even when video evidence contradicts those claims.
In addition to supporting the state bill, we should also encourage our Supervisors to pass similar legislation at the local level.
Call your state reps and tell them: Support the No Secret Police Act.
Support a Wealth Tax in San Francisco
As of 2024 San Francisco was home to 50 billionaires, the highest per-capita level of any city in the world. A wealth tax affecting only these top earners would create lasting revenue and prevent the kinds of cuts that are about to impact our City—but local income taxes are not allowed in California.
To this end, Supervisors Connie Chan, Chyanne Chen, Jackie Fielder, and Shamann Walton have co-sponsored a resolution calling for our state representatives Matt Haney, Catherine Stefani, and Scott Wiener to introduce legislation that would allow cities and counties in California to have local income taxes. Sixteen states allow local income taxes, but California is not among them.
The Resolution received unanimous support among the Board Supervisors. Let’s thank them for bringing progressive solutions to the table, and urge our state representatives to do what our Supervisors are asking them to do.

Direct Action Event Monitoring: We need your help!
At every protest, we always want as many safety monitors as we can get to help keep our actions peaceful. And that’s never been more true and more important than at last month’s No Kings march, where roughly 100,000 people filled the streets.
We’ll have more protests in the future. Please volunteer to be a safety monitor for our next action. We can train you—it takes about 90 minutes. It's a simple, usually fairly chill, and essential job that helps keep our actions safe for all participants.
As pro-democracy, anti-authoritarian movements depend on nonviolence for success and as the US movement grows and potentially provokes authoritarian backlash, we encourage you to join in this vital work at our future actions. Read more on our blog.
