John --
It's been a tumultuous month to say the least, but I'm feeling hopeful today. We may have a long road ahead of us to defeat COVID-19 and dismantle systemic racism, but I firmly believe the passion and resiliency of the American people have the power to change this world for the better.
As people across the country are taking to the streets to make loud, clear demands, there are still too many folks in power more interested in maintaining the status quo. The crumbs Republicans continue to pass off as meaningful change are not good enough -- and it's about time we put them on notice.
We won't make much progress on these incredibly important issues without filling the White House, Congress, the Pennsylvania state legislature, and local governments all across our state with pro-science, anti-racist lawmakers.
This November will be the best chance we have to send the lawmakers who aren't on the side of public health and racial justice packing. We have a lot of work to do, and we need leadership that amplifies -- not silences -- the will of the people.
That's why I need your help to reach our $10,000 end-of-quarter goal to make sure we have the resources to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this year and make even more progress on the issues we care about. Every little bit helps, so rush a donation of any amount before our biggest FEC deadline yet:
It's not just about making sure everyone wears masks. We need a coordinated state and federal strategy to tackle -- not ignore -- this virus and its devastating impact. It's going to take robust testing and contact tracing efforts, more emergency aid to keep our small businesses and workers afloat, and international collaboration to make treatments and vaccines widely available when the time comes.
And it's not just about ending policing brutality. We need a thorough uprooting of the inequalities still rampant in housing, education, employment, health care, and more. It's going to take bold action to reform our broken criminal justice system and end persistent voter suppression efforts that continue to silence the Black community.
When our end-of-quarter fundraising numbers go public after this month's critical FEC deadline, dark money groups will be looking for any signs of weakness to try and prevent another blue wave in Pennsylvania. With your help today, John, I'm confident we'll be able to report strong numbers that show our grassroots movement is stronger than ever.
Bold ideas take bold leadership -- and it's up to us to make that dream a reality this November.
Thanks for your support,
Dwight
