My name is Josh Novick. I am a school counselor, a licensed professional counselor, and the newest ambassador with Teachers Unify to End Gun Violence.

I’ve spent over a decade working with both students and educators to promote trauma-informed care and post-crisis recovery. Educators are uniquely positioned to guide their communities through the aftermath of the unthinkable, and I’m excited to continue this vital work with Teachers Unify.

But John, the truth is simply that we shouldn’t have to keep showing up in the aftermath. So we’re not just responding to tragedies: we’re working every day to prevent them.

Teachers Unify is about more than healing. It’s about prevention. It’s about changing the systems, laws, and cultural norms that have allowed this crisis to persist. And it’s about amplifying the voices of educators, those on the front lines, who know what’s at stake.
