Dear Kansans,
Please pardon the late note. The holiday kept me in the operating room since Thursday evening, helping Kansans on one of their worst days, with more cases still ahead. Long nights at the surgical table sharpen my gratitude for everyone who celebrated responsibly and kept our emergency rooms quiet; your care for one another allows my team stay focused on those who truly needed us.
As we honored the birth of our Nation this weekend, it is a time to reflect on the eternal truths that forged America: the courage to stand against tyranny, the resolve to build a society of purpose, and the duty to care for one another in times of trial. Independence Day is no mere holiday; it is a summons to remember who we are. It calls us to embody the rugged individualism and collective strength that built this nation. As President Trump’s 2024 Kansas Chairman I see this day as a challenge to recommit to the principles that make us free, not just in body, but in spirit and purpose.

We must reject the chaos of aimlessness and embrace the discipline of rebuilding the Great State of Kansas. This is the path to a Kansas that thrives, where every family can stand tall, unburdened by overreach and emboldened by opportunity. In this spirit, I am inspired by the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, who has shown us what resolute action can achieve.
President Trump has slashed crippling regulations, unleashed American energy independence, and secured our borders against the tide of lawlessness that threatens our communities. His policies have lowered prescription drug prices, protected Medicare for our seniors, and fostered an economy where hard work could still mean something. As Kansas chairman of the President’s 2024 campaign, I saw firsthand his unyielding commitment to the American people.
A commitment that’s fueling the greatest comeback in our nation’s history.
Together, as your Governor, we will carry forward this legacy, making KANSAS a beacon of affordability, opportunity, and strength.

Yet, even as we celebrate, our hearts turn to our friends in Texas, where floods have brought devastation to homes and lives. I ask you to join me in prayer for the victims, for those who have lost so much, and for the brave souls working to rebuild. We pray for their resilience, for their courage, and for the divine strength to carry them through.
Independence Day is behind us, but its spark shouldn’t fade — let’s keep it burning by living with purpose.
As your Governor, I will fight to simplify our tax code, lower property taxes, and cut the red tape that strangles our potential. We will grow this state with high paying jobs, so you can provide a better life for your family. I will protect our parental rights and ensure our schools teach the values that make Kansas great. I will lead with the clarity of a surgeon and the heart of a humanitarian, as I have in war zones from Sudan to Afghanistan, because leadership is not about power — it’s about service.
Join me, Kansas. Let us build a state where our children see their future, where our communities flourish, and where we face every challenge with the courage of our founders. Together, we will make Kansas a place of meaning, strength, and hope.
For God, for country, for Kansas,
Governor Jeff Colyer
