"*ACT NOW: *"

*Sign the Petition [ [link removed] ]**: No Hotels for ICE*

*Demand that U.S. hotel chains refuse to let ICE *

*use their properties as jails for immigrants*

The Administration's alarming escalation of detention -- for asylum seekers, migrants, children -- is more than cruel. It violates human rights, international laws and U.S. laws, does not affect the "drivers" of migration, and promotes Trump's demonization of all migrants. And now the Administration wants the indefinite detention of migrant families [ [link removed] ] with a new "interpretation" of the Flores settlement, which limited the detention of children to no more than 20 days.

"*We need to end these punitive detention policies and practices -- not increase the Administration's ability to carry out these inhumane policies. *"One way to keep the pressure on the Administration is to enlist support from diverse sectors -- and in this case, by urging hotel chains not to agree to contracts [ [link removed] ] to use hotels for immigrant detention. Some hotel chains -- Marriott International, Hilton Hotels, Choice Hotels, and Hyatt Hotels Corporation -- have already pledged to reject ICE requests to jail immigrant [ [link removed] ]s on their properties, and Wyndham also recently indicated it would not engage in such agreements. But we need to keep the pressure on all hotel chains to go on record, make sure that those who have released statements keep their commitments -- and ensure that franchisees and staff do the same.

This month, NNIRR joined with several other organizations to send a message to Best Western Hotels and Resorts, Drury Hotels, Extended Stay America, G6 Hospitality, InterContinental Hotels Group, Radisson, Red Lion Hotels, Red Roof and Wyndham Hotels. Please join us!
