John,
I know that after the “One Big Beautiful Bill” vote, a lot of folks are feeling deflated, worried, angry, or honestly, just overwhelmed.
That’s the point. “Flood the zone” isn’t just a phrase; it’s a strategy. If the GOP keeps us off balance and disconnected, we’re more likely to check out, give up, or tune out. And we cannot let that happen.
So here’s what I want to say to you today: Pick one thing.
Is it reproductive freedom? Veterans’ health care? Voting rights? Whatever it is, zero in on it. Get curious. Become an expert on it. Not in a doomscrolling, armchair-pundit way — I mean really learn it. Become the person your friends and family turn to when they want to understand what’s going on. And then, find a way to plug into that issue locally.
The truth is, even as a sitting member of Congress with a whole staff, I still get to the end of the day and realize there are bills I didn’t track and news stories I missed. No one can do it all, so the goal isn’t to do everything. It’s to do something with focus and purpose.
That’s how we’ll build a winning movement. That’s how we’ll flip the House, block bad bills, and pass the ones that actually lift people up.
So if you're with me, and if you're ready to turn that frustration into fuel, I hope you'll consider supporting this work by chipping in today:
