I want to take a moment to talk about how I’m responding to the passage of the Big Ugly Bill.

I voted against it because it is deeply harmful to the people I represent. It cuts healthcare for millions, slashes food assistance, and hands out massive tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations—all while adding trillions to the deficit. It is a betrayal of working families, seniors, and veterans.

But even though this bill passed, the fight is not over.

Many of the worst parts of this bill don’t kick in immediately. For example, Medicaid cuts don’t take full effect until 2027. This is important for two reasons. 

First, because it shows that Republicans know how toxic this legislation is and want to push its effects until after the midterms. 

And second, it gives us time to strategize and fight back. 

That is why I am reaching out to you today. This fight is far from over, and I’ll need you with me for the road ahead.
