Recently, the Republican-controlled Arizona Legislature passed a new state budget. While it wasn’t the first version to cross Governor Katie Hobbs’ desk, she signed this version—because this time, it delivered for everyday Arizonans.
Governor Hobbs knew that Democrats needed to step up and govern, even in the face of a MAGA-dominated legislature. So she fought hard to negotiate a budget that limits the damage from extreme Republicans and prioritizes the real needs of Arizona families.
Here’s what Democrats secured in the budget:
✅ $20 million to restore cuts to the Victims of Crime Act—supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes.
✅ $3 million to defend Arizona’s fair share of Colorado River water.
✅ $4.2 million to keep rural and underserved hospitals open.
✅ $11.2 million for wildfire prevention and emergency response.
✅ $3.8 million to provide 10 million free meals to working-class children at school.
✅ $297 million to build and repair public schools across the state.
And that’s just the beginning.
This budget is a testament to what strong Democratic leadership looks like—even in the minority. Governor Hobbs and our Democratic legislators proved they can still deliver big wins, protect public education, fight for healthcare access, and invest in our communities, at a time where these same things are being attacked at the federal level.
That’s why we’re going all in to re-elect Governor Hobbs and every statewide Democratic incumbent in 2026.
Friend, can you donate today to help us re-elect Governor Hobbs? She knows how to get things done and how to deliver for all Arizonans in a time where the odds are stacked against her.
The stakes couldn’t be higher—and with your help, we’ll keep Arizona moving forward.
