By now, you’ve probably heard about Donald Trump’s so-called "big beautiful bill," John.

Let’s call it what it is: a massive tax giveaway to billionaires — paid for by cutting the programs everyday people rely on.

It’s heartbreaking. And it’s exactly why Sister District exists.

We launched in 2016 after Trump’s first election because we knew state legislatures would be a critical line of defense. Now, with Republicans controlling the presidency and both chambers of Congress, state legislatures are one of the only places where meaningful progress will be possible in the coming years.

While others focus on gridlocked federal fights, we’re organizing where it counts most — on the ground in states across the country, building long-term power and electing local Democrats who will protect our communities and freedoms.

Will you pitch in $25.25, or whatever amount you can, to elect state Democrats who will protect their communities from the GOP’s assault on working people and the most vulnerable among us?

Here’s how state leaders are already stepping up:

➡️ Pennsylvania: Lawmakers are advancing a bipartisan bill to help pay off student loans for rural doctors, nurses, and dentists.

➡️ Indiana & Oklahoma: Legislators introduced bills to create grant programs for rural hospitals.

➡️ Texas: The state announced over $6 million in grants to support struggling rural hospitals.

➡️ Georgia: A state panel unanimously approved directing more Medicaid funds to hospitals to draw down federal dollars before the new cuts hit.

This moment is urgent — but it’s not hopeless. We still have power. And we’re using it to fight back.

Sister District is organizing every day to build progressive power in states across the country. But we can’t do it without you, John.

True Democratic wins are only possible with strong state legislatures. Your support helps us organize, elect, and lead where it matters most. Chip in today.
