Cash use has jumped in recent months - the Bank of England’s chief cashier has officially announced. [1] So many of us want to pay with cash, and we should all have the right to. That’s why we’re campaigning to protect that right for everyone.
Just last month, the State of New York passed a new law to ban cashless shops and food stores, protecting people’s access to essential goods. [2] With your help, we could do the same right here.

The Treasury Select Committee has told the government it “must act to manage the decline in cash acceptance” - now we need to pile on the pressure to make it happen. [3]
We already won protections on free access to cash back in 2023. [4] Now it’s time for the government to take this next step and protect our ability to use it.
