Civil Society Demands Global Economic Justice Now!

Civil society action at FfD4.
FfD4 took place from June 30 - July 3 in Sevilla, Spain. On the close of FfD4, civil society gathered to make it clear to delegates: while the FfD4 outcome document, the Compromiso de Sevilla, failed to reflect the ambition needed, the fight for economic justice continues. Throughout the conference, civil society gave interventions ([link removed]) on the lack of ambition in the outcome document as well as presented the Civil Society Forum Declaration ([link removed]) .
Ahead of FfD4, GATJ spoke at the Civil Society Forum organised by the CS FfD Mechanism, the Feminist Forum, and participated in the Global Days of Action to Pay Up! Cancel the Debt! Change the System! Around the world, thousands of people mobilised to demand global economic justice, including at the civil society march ([link removed]) in Sevilla.

Tax Justice for Gender Equality: Rethinking Care Systems
GATJās Tax and Gender Working Group (TGWG) held a side event at the 33rd Annual International Association of Feminist Economics (IAFFE) Conference.
During the side event, TGWG members spoke about the forthcoming Framing Feminist Taxation guide volume 3 which focuses on tax justice and gender equality in connection to care systems.

LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
Red de Justicia Fiscal de AmƩrica Latina y el Caribe (RJFALC) members attended FfD4. RJFALC Coordinator AdriƔn Falco shared ([link removed]) the key issues at stake at FfD4. RJFALC also published ([link removed]) a study on tax justice and the human right to education.
AFRICA
Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) participated in ([link removed]) FfD4. TJNA also spotlighted youth-led accountability in Tobacco Control at the World Conference on Tobacco Control. ([link removed]) From foundational principles in 2023 to advanced strategies in 2025, the International Tax Justice Academy ([link removed]) (ITJA) advanced-level training marked the final chapter of a three-tier capacity-building journey that began with a mission to elevate African tax justice.
ASIA
Tax and Fiscal Justice Asia (TAFJA) participated in FfD4. Ahead of FfD4, TAFJA members participated in a Global Days of Action to Pay Up! Cancel the Debt! Change the System! with hundreds of protests around the world. TAFJA Co-Coordinators Jeannie Manipon ([link removed]) and Dr. Arjun Karki ([link removed]) shared statements on the action.

NORTH AMERICA
Canadians for Tax Fairness (C4TF) bid a fond farewell to outgoing Executive Director, Katrina Miller, and a warm welcome ([link removed]) to incoming Executive Director, Jared A. Walker.
The Financial Accountability & Corporate Transparency (FACT) Coalition shared ([link removed]) Congress passed H.R.1, a budget reconciliation bill containing trillions of dollars of highly regressive tax cuts for wealthy individuals and corporations at the cost of steep cuts to healthcare, food assistance, and climate programs. In addition to its domestic corporate tax breaks, the bill also includes nearly $170 billion in international tax breaks benefiting the nationās largest multinational companies.
EUROPE
Tax Justice Europe (TJ-E) members took part in FfD4. Members of TJ-E shared interventions in the conference and spoke at side events.
