Team — I know it doesn’t feel like it right now, but Trump and his Republican Congress really stepped in it last week.

We saw Republicans in the Senate celebrate after they passed that budget, and the same thing happened in the House. Lots of smiling, lots of applause, pats on the back. On the Fourth of July, of all days, Trump had all of them over to the White House for the signing ceremony like some kind of hero.

But make no mistake: They just signed one of the most unpopular bills of all time into law. Maybe even the most unpopular, ever. They did so with the slimmest of margins, against the will of the majority of Americans. They did all of that, and they celebrated.

People have already been suffering because of Trump’s chaos for the last six months. It’s no secret. Now, that harm is going to increase considerably.

So, I’ve got two priorities right now. First, I’m going to do my best to minimize the harm this bill does to the people of Arizona, and I’m going to try to help as many people as I can. But second, I’m going to make sure that the people who did this pay a political price for it.

I know a thing or two about winning elections. And whatever I can do, wherever I can go, whoever I can help — I am going to do it. I am going to fight like hell to defeat the people who dropped this burden on veterans, hungry kids, the elderly, and hardworking families just trying to get by.

We’ve got to send them a message. So, I’m asking you to chip in and help me do it. Let’s show them what’s coming their way.
