Hi John,

I hope you and your loved ones enjoyed a safe and fun 4th of July. As we celebrated the freedoms that make our country great, I’m especially thankful for the hardworking folks across our district who make North Carolina stronger every day.

This month’s update includes some big news for Richmond County — Amazon is investing $10 billion in a new AI and cloud campus, bringing hundreds of high-paying jobs to our region. You’ll also find highlights from our final week of session before summer break, a preview of some critical veto overrides, and a few fun facts that showcase our district’s unique role in our state’s story.

As always, my door is open for you. If there’s anything I can do to help you or your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

At your service,
Ben

Representative Ben T. Moss, Jr.
North Carolina General Assembly

** HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! 🇺🇸
------------------------------------------------------------
Hope you all had a safe and fun time celebrating America’s independence. As we reflect on the freedoms we’re blessed to enjoy, let’s carry that spirit of service and patriotism with us all year long.

** AMAZON COMING TO RICHMOND COUNTY
------------------------------------------------------------
BIG NEWS for Richmond County! 🚨

Amazon.com is investing $10 BILLION in a new AI and cloud computing campus right here at home — bringing at least 500 high-paying tech jobs! This is the largest capital investment in NC history and a game-changer for our community. We're proud to welcome Amazon to Richmond County!

** HONORING D-DAY VETERANS
------------------------------------------------------------

On the 81st anniversary of D-Day, we paused to remember the brave Americans who stormed the beaches of Normandy and helped liberate the world. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom must be defended — and never taken for granted.

** DID YOU KNOW? 🤨
------------------------------------------------------------

Did you know the sign in front of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences is made from a 22-ton rock donated by Vulcan Materials — straight from their Richmond County quarry in the heart of our district? A powerful symbol of our region’s natural resources on display for all to see.

** VETO UPDATE
------------------------------------------------------------

Governor Stein’s vetoes are dangerous and out of step with the people of North Carolina. By blocking bills that would protect our borders, uphold our Second Amendment rights, and support law enforcement, he’s putting political agendas ahead of public safety. North Carolinians deserve better — and I’ll be voting to override all three of these vetoes without hesitation.

** LEGISLATIVE WEEK IN REVIEW
------------------------------------------------------------

In our final week of legislative session before Summer Break, we worked to protect what matters — our kids, our values, and our tax dollars. Whether it’s internet safety in schools or defining biological sex in state law, the NC House is bringing clarity and accountability to state government.

** HOW TO SUPPORT OUR RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN
------------------------------------------------------------

Team Moss — Your support has never been more important. I’m working hard every day to deliver real results — better roads and rail, support for our working families, and a stronger future for North Carolina. But I can’t do it alone.

Can I count on you to chip in today? ([link removed]) Every dollar makes a difference in helping us stay on track and win this race for our community.

** LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
------------------------------------------------------------
The 2025–2026 Legislative Session remains in full swing, with ongoing committee work and budget negotiations still underway. While the final state budget has yet to be passed, we’re working hard to reach an agreement that reflects North Carolina’s priorities. In the meantime, our office remains open and ready to assist you — whether you need help navigating state government, have questions, or want to share your input.
