On June 19th, 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston to deliver the words of the Emancipation Proclamation to enslaved people in Texas – declaring the last group of slaves in the United States to be free.

Ro Khanna

In California’s Democratic Primary, Bernie Sanders won by over 300,000 votes. Those are 300,000 Democratic voters who chose a platform of Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and more.

Their voices have meaning. Our voices have meaning. And as the party rallies behind Joe Biden as our nominee to defeat Trump, we have to make sure that we don’t take progressive voices for granted.

That’s why grassroots leaders across the state are calling for an important display of solidarity: Ro Khanna should lead California’s Delegation at the DNC. As a progressive leader who endorsed Bernie and has been fighting for our platform on Capitol Hill, his appointment sends an important message to progressives.

Progressive votes must be earned. Sign your name if you agree that a progressive voice should lead California’s Delegation to the Democratic National Convention in August:

As chair of the largest state delegation, Ro will have a powerful position to speak out in favor of the policies we voted for in March. He can use that power to move the needle on critical policies for the working-class, and advocate for their adoption in the Democratic Party’s platform.

Those are exactly the policies that will help boost turnout in November and ensure that Donald Trump doesn’t get another four years to tear our country apart.

We need your voice here. Will you sign your name in support of the grassroots call for Ro to lead California’s Delegation?
