US negotiators have reached new trade agreements with several nations, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent each said Sunday, adding that President Donald Trump has moved the start date for all tariff changes from Wednesday to August 1 to provide additional negotiating time with more countries. Countries without a deal by then will see tariffs return to April 2 levels, Lutnick and Bessent said.

The US ended its de minimis tax exemption for shipments valued under $800 from China and Hong Kong in early May, subjecting these packages to new tariffs. The policy has dramatically affected air cargo flows, with volume from Asia to North America dropping 10.7% year over year in May. The Republicans' One Big Beautiful Bill Act is set to eliminate the de minimis exemption for all countries starting in July 2027.

Noticeable price increases are starting to hit department stores as tariffs introduced by President Donald Trump take effect. Data from DataWeave shows that prices for footwear, apparel, and bags have increased starting in May, with footwear experiencing the sharpest increases due to steep baseline duties and heavy reliance on imports from China. The impact is expected to intensify over the summer, especially as back-to-school merchandise faces 10-30% tariffs.

Alcohol distributor Southern Glazer aims to improve employee health, engagement and morale with its "Be You, Only Better" program, which has an 85% satisfaction rate and reduces medical costs through preventive care and mental health support, says Amy Kickham, chief HR officer. "People take 30 minutes at lunch and walk around the park, and they're getting their steps in, monitoring their heart rate and ensuring they're taking care of themselves," says Kickham, who adds the BYOB program also offers team competitions and financial well-being classes.

Enterprise B2B marketers are increasingly prioritizing revenue-focused KPIs such as net new revenue, ROI and customer lifetime value over vanity metrics, according to a study by 2X and Avasant. The study shows marketers are aligning more closely with chief financial officers and CEOs to demonstrate the value of marketing spend. The study also highlights the rise of AI-driven campaigns and intelligent automation, although budgets have not yet reflected expected savings in personnel costs.

Young American workers are content with in-office work and seek regular feedback, according to a Generation Lab survey of nearly 18,000 Americans ages 18 to 34 for CNBC. Regular and in-person feedback from supervisors is highly valued, with 64% preferring feedback on at least a monthly basis, ideally in-person and from multiple people or perspectives. Career and skill development are also top priorities, with more than one-third of younger workers identifying them as the most important factor besides pay.
