JOHN,
The flooding in Texas this week has been devastating—dozens are dead or
missing, and thesearch for survivors
<[link removed]>
is still ongoing.
Central Texas has been hit especially hard—most tragically with the loss of
innocent Camp Mystic campers <[link removed]>.
These families, first responders, and entire communities are facing
unimaginable challenges, and they need our support now more than ever, folks.
As Tennesseans, we’ve always answered the call. It’s how we earned the
nickname, the “Volunteer State”—from the thousands who stepped up during the
War of 1812 to those who later fought for Texas’ independence. And today, I
know we’ll show up again—through prayer, service, and support.
If you’re looking for a way to help, here are a few organizations working
directly on the ground:
* Kerr County Flood Relief Fund
<[link removed]> –
Run by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to support rescue and
rebuilding
* Salvation Army – Kerrville Kroc Center
<[link removed]> – Needs non-perishables,
hygiene items, bleach, diapers, etc.
* Texsar <[link removed]> – Volunteer search and rescue teams on the
ground
* World Central Kitchen <[link removed]> – Providing meals and clean water
to communities in need
* Austin Pets Alive! <[link removed]> – Caring for 150+
displaced pets; most in need of monetary donations and pet supplies
* Samaritans Purse
<[link removed]>
– Mobilize staff and equipment to provide emergency aid to victims and often
stay behind after their initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy
families

Let’s continue to live up to the legacy of service Tennesseans are known for.
My prayers are with everyone in Texas—and I know yours are too.
God bless,
Tim Burchett
