Trump’s so-called Big Beautiful Bill is nothing short of a disaster. It rips over a trillion dollars from essential programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and Pell Grants, jacks up energy costs, and dumps the burden onto states like Connecticut — all so billionaires can get another round of tax breaks.

This bill is a betrayal of working families. It will take health care away from millions, force nursing homes to close, drive up household costs, and kill jobs, just to pad the pockets of Trump’s ultra-wealthy donors.
Here’s what our Democratic leaders have done to protect the people of CT:
* Covering a $284 million Medicaid shortfall , so we could keep care going without disruption.
* Passed a $30 million per year in Medicaid-related grants to strengthen care access and provider support.
* Publicly opposed SNAP cuts alongside 22 Democratic governors, warning that Connecticut could be forced to absorb more than $130 million per year in new costs.
This is the kind of leadership that comes from electing Democrats who share our values. When we support candidates who prioritize working families, we get lawmakers willing to make tough decisions to protect Connecticut.
