John, Last week, Congress passed a budget bill that marks a sea change in U.S. immigration policy. 

While immigrant rights advocates successfully fought to keep some of the worst proposals out of the bill, major harms remain. The bill supercharges detention and enforcement funding, increases border militarization, raises immigration application fees, and weakens protections for vulnerable populations like children seeking safety.
