Notes from the Office of Speaker Mike Johnson Hello, friends! Thank you for subscribing to the Office of Speaker Johnson's newsletter highlighting what's happening on Capitol Hill and in Louisiana's 4th Congressional District. | FLOODING IN CENTRAL TEXAS | Our prayers go out to those affected by the devastating flash floods in central Texas, including for the recovery of the many children at Camp Mystic who have still not been found. May God be with the rescue workers, first responders, and volunteers who are continuing their search for the missing. (Rom. 8:38-39) | On Thursday morning, the House passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which makes the largest investment in border security in a generation, provides historic tax relief for American workers, will rein in Washington’s waste, unleashes energy dominance, strengthens our military, and puts America back on a path to peace, strength, and prosperity. Following final House passage, Speaker Johnson, Leader Scalise, Whip Emmer, and Chairwoman McClain released a joint statement and held a press conference and bill signing ceremony. On Independence Day, Speaker Johnson joined President Trump at the White House as the President signed the bill into law. | Speaker Johnson delivered the closing argument on the House floor prior to the passage on the One Big Beautiful Bill.
