Hey there John, it's Aru.
I’m devastated. Over the weekend, nearly 100 people died in Texas from absolutely unprecedented flooding.
These are exactly the sort of climate disasters we’ve been organizing so hard to stop. On days like this, it’s hard not to feel…empty.
Big Oil wants us to give up. Big Oil wants to continue to destroy our futures to run up the high score on their capitalism simulator. We can’t let them.
To stop them, we’re building an organized movement of skilled young people who can lead and participate in acts of mass non-violent disruption that force our government to act.
Fossil fuel billionaires banded together to fund Trump’s 2024 re-election, and they’re reaping the rewards from his disastrous budget bill: millions of dollars in tax cuts, and the complete gutting of their main competitors: renewable energy. What do we get in return? The gutting or destruction of the agencies that track, predict, and respond to climate disasters.
Our society faces a simple choice: billions of dollars in profits for a few rich people at the top, or a livable, affordable future for us all.
Together, we can beat them. Throughout history, the only thing that has ever beaten organized money is organized people.
In solidarity,
Aru
