Thanks to the grassroots opposition of Democrats in Montana and across the West, Republicans in Congress officially withdrew their plan to sell off millions of acres of public lands.

Despite the GOP’s best efforts, this is a huge victory for our state. Now, our public lands will continue to be in public hands — not sold off to corporate polluters and billionaires playing cowboy.

But this isn’t the end of the fight, John. Far from it. Because we know that extreme Republicans won’t give up their efforts to sell off OUR lands to THEIR corporate backers.
