Friend,
Tennesseans have always answered the call to help—that’s why we’re known as the Volunteer State. In the 1830s, brave Tennesseans stepped forward to fight in the Texas Revolution, with legends like Davy Crockett and Sam Houston leading the way and playing an essential role in Texas’ fight for independence. Today, we’re called to help our friends in Texas once again. Recent devastating floods have struck Kerr County, TX, and surrounding communities, with more flooding to be expected as Central Texas continues to endure more storms. The 4th of July flooding has tragically resulted in more than 80 fatalities, making this the second-deadliest flood-related disaster in Texas history. As your neighbor and fellow American, I encourage every Tennessean to show our Volunteer spirit and support Texas in its time of need. Whether it’s through donations or prayers, every gesture makes a difference.
Let’s show the world what the Volunteer State is all about. God bless, |
