I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day weekend! I’m grateful to have celebrated our nation’s history with my family and friends this past weekend.

This weekend, I was thinking about the principles that our country was founded on: freedom, equality, and the belief that someone could come to America and create a better life for themselves. Right now, these values are under attack from extremist politicians.

In these perilous times, we must unite and stand up for our values. Loving our country means using our voices to build a better America for the generations to come. I believe in a future where the American Dream is within reach again – where good-paying jobs aren’t so hard to come by, and where everyday essentials aren’t a luxury.
