Some big, positive news came out of Wisconsin last week, John.
The state’s Supreme Court, including newly elected Justice Susan Crawford, killed the “zombie” abortion ban from 1849. At a time when states are increasingly restricting reproductive rights in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade a few years ago, this is a massive win.
This is the same court that billionaire Elon Musk tried buying a seat on by dropping more than $25 million in support of a MAGA candidate running against Crawford.
And with grassroots support from people like you, Demand Justice PAC was proud to donate in support of Crawford’s campaign, months after investing in state-level judicial candidates across the country in the 2024 elections as part of our work to build strong courts at every level of government.
Had Crawford lost, this 4-3 ruling would have most likely been flipped in the opposite direction, allowing the outdated near-total abortion ban to survive.
