Team — have you heard the spooky story of Jeff Sessions?
The scariest part of this story is that it could really be our reality. Jeff Sessions is back, and is now running for the Senate against Doug Jones in Alabama. Doug Jones can win re-election and keep Jeff Sessions out of Congress, but he’s going to need all the help he can get. This race will be one of the most competitive races in the country and could determine control of the Senate.
Doug Jones has been busy in the Senate saving the Affordable Care Act, opposing far-right Supreme Court nominees, and voting to convict Donald Trump in the impeachment proceedings. Coming from a ruby-red state, these votes weren’t easy, but Doug Jones courageously cast them anyway. Jeff Sessions, on the other hand, is most famous for separating families at the border, chipping away at protections for LGBTQ+ Americans, and other vile actions as Trump’s trusty Attorney General. Jeff Sessions is a spineless, racist, xenophobic politician who would get in the way of achieving real progress in our country. We can’t let Sessions win this Senate seat. Doug Jones needs all the help he can get to keep his Senate seat and continue moving our country forward.
