STATEMENT ON THE FWC’S INVESTIGATION OF THE SEPTEMBER 4, 2022 CUTTER
BANK BOATING ACCIDENT

[6]

Rodney Barreto, Chairman Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission

[6]

In recent months, media coverage—most notably from the Miami
Herald—has cast doubt on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission’s (FWC) investigation into the tragic boating accident
that occurred at Cutter Bank on September 4, 2022. This devastating
incident resulted in the heartbreaking loss of a young life and
serious injuries to several others. Our deepest sympathies remain with
the victims and their families.

Regrettably, much of the Herald’s reporting has been one-sided,
misrepresenting the diligent and comprehensive efforts undertaken by
FWC officers. The FWC is firmly committed to conducting thorough,
impartial investigations of all boating accidents within its
jurisdiction. This case was no exception.

ATELIER AESTHETICS CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING NEAR THE FALLS

Atelier Aesthetics celebrated its grand opening on May 1st at 8801 SW
136th Street, directly opposite The Falls shopping center. The French
word “atelier” means workshop or studio used by an artist or
designer, which is the perfect moniker for Miami’s newest
beauty-enhancing practice.

“At Atelier, we are the artists and our clients’ skin is the
canvas,” says Co-Founder Savannah Roberts, a licensed aesthetician
with years of experience enhancing and restoring skin using a variety
of advanced, minimally invasive treatments to refine facial contours,
restore volume and rejuvenate aging skin.

COMMUNICATION AND CLEAR DOCUMENTATION

In this edition of our Q&A column, a patient writes to Dr. Wolf
expressing some confusion about the wide variety of facial fillers
offered at different practices. Having visited several facial plastic
surgeons, dermatologists, and med spas, they’ve encountered
differing products each time and are curious about the reasons behind
the variations. The patient asks: “Should I be worried if one uses a
different filler than another?” Dr. Wolf explains why this
variability exists and how.
