The Green Party is calling on the UK government to further support and celebrate the Windrush Generation and claim today as a celebration of migration.
The Green Party recognises the huge contribution to UK society that the Windrush Generation has played since arriving in the UK on 22 June 1948.
But 72 years later, since those first Windrush migrants from Jamaica, Bermuda, Trinidad and British Guiana landed in Tilbury, they and their descendants that helped to rebuild post-war Great Britain, still suffer discrimination.
Whilst Windrush Day is an Observed Day, sign our petition telling the UK government that you stand with the Windrush Generation and ask for today to be a national bank holiday.
In solidarity,
The Green Party
