Congressman Jared Golden has been hard at work fighting for the people of Maine’s second district. Here’s what he’s been up to over the last month:
BUDGET VOTE
Jared took a stand and voted against the GOP’s reckless budget bill that will slash healthcare for millions of families to fund giant tax breaks for billionaires — while adding over $3 trillion to the national debt.
JOBS CORPS CENTERS
Jared is pushing the Administration to reopen Job Corps Centers across the country — including ones in Penobscot and Loring. These closures have already disrupted students’ lives and could worsen rural workforce shortages.
PROTECT OUR PARKS
Jared is pushing a bill to make sure national parks — including Acadia and Katahdin Woods & Waters — have enough staff to stay open, safe, and well-maintained. This legislation would reverse recent staff cuts and protect funding for important repairs and conservation projects, so parks can keep serving visitors and local communities.
SHIPYARD VISIT
Jared visited Boston Ship Repair to stand with our unions and call for renewed investment in American shipyards. He urged Congress to pass the bipartisan SHIPS Act to grow the shipbuilding workforce, boost U.S. naval strength, and protect jobs at facilities like Bath Iron Works and Boston Ship Repair.
You can always count on Jared to stand up for the people of Maine’s second district — with independence, integrity, and real results.
