John,
Two weeks ago, the Supreme Court handed Donald Trump a dangerous win.
In a 6–3 ruling, the Court didn’t say his executive order ending birthright citizenship is legal, but it did strip federal judges of the power to block it nationwide.
Now, Trump’s order is set to go into effect in 28 states that haven’t yet filed lawsuits, and the clock is ticking. Attorneys General in these states have less than 30 days to file to stop the order.
Here’s what’s at stake:
➡️ Children born on U.S. soil to undocumented parents or parents on temporary visas could be denied citizenship.
➡️ Families could leave the hospital with a child who’s a citizen in one state, but not in the one next door.
➡️ A right that’s been by the 14th Amendment for 158 years could vanish overnight for more than half the country.
Trump’s executive order and the Supreme Court’s decision show an absolute disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law. White supremacists have been pushing this policy for decades, but Trump just found the legal loophole to try and make it happen, and we’ve got to close it.
If your state hasn’t yet sued, your Attorney General needs to act immediately. If your state has already sued, your AG should help organize their peers to get to work.
We need to unite and stop this blatant violation of our Constitution from becoming law, before it’s too late.

What we choose to do right now will be remembered for decades to come. Let’s make the right choice.
