Friend,
I didn’t get into this race because I was asked to by party leadership. I got
in because I looked around, saw what was happening to our country. I saw
the—let’s just call it what it is—weak response to Trump’s re-election campaign
and his ruthless dismantling of our government and laws. And I knew I needed to
step up.
Donald Trump and Lauren Boebert are bringing nothing but chaos, extremism, and
fear into communities that deserve real leadership. They’re working their asses
off to throw thousands of folks in our district off Medicaid.
And the truth is, the response from the top hasn’t been strong enough.
Everywhere I travel, I ask the room: “Raise your hand if you think the
Democratic leadership in DC is doing a good job standing up to Trump and his
authoritarian agenda.”
Guess how many hands go up? Zero. Not one.
It’s the same in every corner of this district. I’ve seen your replies to our
emails too — so many of you have told me you’ve stopped donating because you're
frustrated. Because you want the party to be doing more.
I’m right there with you.
Too many are trying to play it safe while the far-right tears down
institutions and attacks working families. That’s not good enough. Not when
health care is on the line, democracy is under threat, and Trump is delivering
on his promises of revenge and retribution.
I’m a manufacturing engineer — not a party insider. I solve problems. I build
things that work. And now, I’m building a campaign that’s about more than just
flipping a seat — it’s about offering a new kind of leadership that fights like
hell for the people who make this country work.
I’m not in this race to cozy up to leadership. And I damn sure won’t be
another rubber stamp for corporate-friendly policies. I’m in this race to build
a coalition — of disaffected Democrats, independents, and even Republicans — to
win this damn seat back. And to push the Democratic Party to become what it
needs to be in this moment.
Like I always say: You don’t become the party of working people. You elect
working people.
And that’s exactly what I intend to do.
I’m asking you to chip in now to help us build this campaign from the ground
up. If you believe we need stronger voices, bolder leadership, and real change
— then I’m asking you to be part of this with me.
