Rachel Herman-Gabrielli
------------------------------------------------------------
Rachel is Israeli born but moved to New York City 7.5 years ago in pursuit of her dream. Since the age of 12 she had a vision of living in NYC and building a career as a photographer. Today, she is a photographer in NYC and team captain of the New York City Gay Pool League.
In Israel she served in the IDF for 2 years as commander and instructor for a Humvee unit. Following her service, Rachel enrolled in the interior design program at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. It was not long before she realized her passion for photography was stronger than her passion for interior design. After completing a program at the small photography school, Photo Way, in Tel Aviv, Rachel spent 2 years building her business in Israel.
Still with the NYC goal in mind, Rachel decided it was time for a change. She left Tel Aviv and moved to NYC. Once here, she worked as a security manager with Israeli Airlines for 7 years.
After leaving her security position to fulfill her lifelong dream, she established her photography business in December of 2019 and has since been working as a freelance photographer.
Prior to 2016, Rachel did not have an active interest in politics. However, when President Trump introduced his campaign policies and agenda for the country, she was eager to get involved. She created an anonymous Instagram page intended to highlight her support for Trump. Support for Trump from the immigrant and LGBTQ communities is rare and she felt strongly about voicing her loyalty. Because she largely felt alone amongst her friends in her support of Trump, she joined the NYYRC. Rachel has been active in the club for over one year and is thankful for the community of members.
In her spare time, Rachel likes to get involved with sports. She was a professional basketball player and still enjoys healthy competition. Though her days of professional sports are behind her, she is a committed golfer and pool player.
