John — We’re re-sending this important email to make sure you didn’t miss it. — Robert Reich
Dear John,
I truly hoped I would never have to send this email.
But it’s official. Yesterday, Donald Trump signed his budget-busting, Medicaid-shattering, shafting-the-poor-and-working-class, making-the-rich-even-richer budget megabill.
The damage this bill will cause is almost impossible to comprehend, and it’s now up to us to make sure Republicans pay the price at the ballot box.
Friends, the midterm elections start now. We’re launching a major nationwide effort to make sure the working people getting screwed over by this bill know exactly whom to blame.
Will you make a monthly donation right now to help educate the public, hold Republicans who voted for this bill accountable, and help take back control of Congress?
The final version of Trump’s big, ugly budget megabill will strip health care from 17 million people by cutting Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, and those lucky enough to keep their health care (including anyone with private insurance) will likely see their premiums and other out-of-pocket costs go up.
In addition, more than 40 million will see reductions in SNAP benefits (aka food stamps), nearly half of them kids. Clean energy funding — and thousands of clean energy jobs — will be gutted. Rural hospitals will be forced to shut down. The list goes on and on.
And all of this while they shovel out another $4.5 trillion in tax breaks overwhelmingly to corporations and the wealthy while turbocharging Trump’s lawless deportation regime with a massive increase in ICE agents and private prison construction.
The only way we can begin to repair the damage is to defeat the
Republicans who voted for this horrific legislation and take back
control of Congress — and that’s exactly what we intend to help do.
Please make a monthly donation right now to help educate the public and hold Republicans who voted for Trump’s big, ugly budget megabill accountable with voters.
We know that Democrats will run massive TV ads attacking Republicans for this bill, and that’s a great start. But social media is absolutely essential to reach the huge percentage of voters who don’t closely follow the news or watch cable TV.
Inequality Media Civic Action is one of the only progressive groups with the reach across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, BlueSky, X, and Facebook to go toe-to-toe with the big right-wing influencers.
This is how young people and other key demographic groups that swung to Trump in the last election get their news, and we’ve spent years mastering the tricks of the trade to create persuasive videos that move voters’ opinions and then make content go viral.
That’s why I truly believe that Inequality Media Civic Action is one of the most effective places for you to invest your hard-earned money to hold Republicans accountable. So please, make a monthly donation to help educate the public and win back control of Congress.
Thank you,
Robert Reich
