Supreme Court [[link removed]]
🇺🇸 Happy July 4th… I guess.
America was founded on democratic principles, checks and balances, and the belief that no leader is above the law. But this Independence Day, those guardrails feel shakier than ever.
In the past year, the Supreme Court has handed sweeping new powers to the executive branch—from shielding presidents with broad immunity for official acts, to recently ruling that federal courts can’t always block presidential orders nationwide. Meanwhile, Congress passed Trump’s so-called “big beautiful bill,” threatening vital programs like Medicaid and SNAP and consolidating even more power in the presidency.
These changes chip away at the very systems designed to protect our freedoms. As we celebrate today, let’s remember: democracy isn’t guaranteed. It’s something we must keep fighting for.
