Dear John,
Amy and I have been telling you all about the journey we took through South Sudan, the people we met who have fled violence and war and are now being hit by extreme flooding, a crisis once again ignored by the news. South Sudan has been experiencing extreme flooding every year since 2019. Huge swathes of land are permanently under water, impacting millions of people.
Right now, with the arrival of the rainy season, the floodwaters are rising, forcing people from their homes, washing away crops and livestock. Food is running out, and people forced to flee are among the hardest hit.
We need to act now, and we need your help.([link removed])
Please donate today([link removed]). Your support could provide people with emergency food, clean water and shelter.
Ledy Zaka is a Sudanese refugee that we met in Maban. She fled to South Sudan in search of safety, but each day she struggles to feed herself and her two young children.
Please help people like Ledy. Hunger and malnutrition are soaring in South Sudan, but your donation can bring a lifeline.
Thank you,
Joshua Werema
