Everyone is starting to recognize what we are building here in Mississippi.

Yesterday, Mike was thrilled to join four other Black candidates running for U.S. Senate seats – Jaime Harrison, Charles Booker, Reverend Dr. Raphael Warnock, and Royce West – on MSNBC’s AM Joy to talk about how we’re going to defeat Cindy Hyde-Smith this time around.

After pointing out our opponent Cindy Hyde-Smith as “the woman who a lot of people only know for having said she’d show up front-row for a hanging,” host Joy Reid mentioned that a long-time Republican operative once told her Mike could win this race if enough Democrats put their money behind us. We couldn’t agree more!

Last time Mike ran for this seat, we were the very last Senate race to launch in 2018 and we still came closer to winning than any other statewide Democrat in Mississippi since 1982. This time around, we made sure to start early, and we’ve since been building more resources and a diverse coalition of supporters all across the state, putting us in a better position to win.
