On Independence Day, it’s important to reflect on this day’s significance. Beyond the celebrations and gatherings, it’s about our shared commitment to ensuring every voice contributes to our democratic process, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding every ballot.

This commitment faces challenges. Extremist groups across the nation aim to diminish our rights — creating red tape through voter suppression, enacting extreme bans on reproductive care, and selling out our public lands to the highest bidders. The upcoming 2026 elections are a critical juncture.

There’s hope though — communities are uniting, raising their voices, and actively defending our collective rights. Organized people will beat organized money every single time. Together we can fight back and protect our democracy.

Happy Independence Day.
