Folks, first and foremost, I’d like to wish you and your family a happy and safe Fourth of July.

I know – after watching Republicans jam their Big, Ugly Bill through Congress this week – this Fourth of July might feel a little different than years past.

But I’d like to say thank you. Thank you for the overwhelming grassroots opposition to this cruel piece of legislation – and for continuing to speak out about everything else coming from this White House.

You prove that our country is better than the Trump administration’s cruelty, chaos, and corruption.

This Independence Day, I’ll be celebrating everything that makes our country so strong: our love of country, our commitment to democracy, and our exceptional people – especially the Americans who’ve served our country at home or abroad.

Later today, Donald Trump will commemorate the Fourth of July by signing his Big, Ugly Bill into law – gutting our social safety net to pay for massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

I can’t think of anything LESS patriotic than ripping healthcare away from millions of Americans.

So come Monday, we need to be ready again to keep speaking out, keep fighting, keep holding the Republicans who passed this cruel piece of legislation accountable.

So rest up – we’ve got a hell of a fight in front of us.
