Happy Independence Day! As we celebrate America’s 249th birthday today, we honor the courage of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, who risked everything to secure our nation’s freedom. Their bold vision, rooted in faith and liberty, continues to inspire us today.

John Adams wrote that this day “ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.” This reminder calls us to gratefully remember the sacrifices that birthed our nation.

From the first anniversary in 1777, with “bells rung, cannons fired, and bonfires lit,” to today’s parades and fireworks, our celebrations unite us in remembering the price of liberty.
