Today, as we celebrate the 4th of July, I’m thinking about what this day truly represents.

It’s more than fireworks and cookouts. It’s a reminder that this country was born from people standing up against tyranny — refusing to be ruled by a king who was infringing on their freedoms and instead choosing to fight for a government by the people, for the people.

America has never, and will never, bow to a king. That spirit of resistance is in our bones. And it shows in every protest we organize, in every voice that is raised, to fight against the far-right oligarchy.

Right now, we’re up against a Republican agenda that wants to roll back our rights, silence our voices, and put Trump and his cronies above the law. That’s not freedom. That’s not democracy. It goes against everything our forefathers fought to build — a nation where every person is entitled to equal rights, and no one is above the law.

This 4th of July, I’m reminded that our power comes from the people. From every person who organizes, speaks out, votes, and stands against unfair treatment. It takes all of us to build a movement — and every person who joins us helps to make us stronger. Because when we work together, we can do amazing things for our communities and our country.

Together, we’ll keep fighting for the future we all deserve — with liberty and justice for all.
