Safer streets ahead: Fourth new School Street coming to the borough
Ā
Oldham Council is bringing in a fourth School Street at St Luke’s Primary in Chadderton, following the success of similar schemes improving safety at schools across the borough.
Ā
This will be the fourth School Street introduced across the borough.
Ā
A School Street isĀ a temporary traffic restriction during drop-off and pick-up times. By reducing traffic outside the school, it cuts down on air pollution, eases congestion, and makes walking, cycling, and scooting to school much safer.

Cllr Arooj Shah, Leader of Oldham Council, said: ā€œWe want to bring School Streets to more schools across the borough, helping to make school journeys safer and healthier for all families."
