**Dallas Is Coming Apart,**

**and No One’s Holding It Together**

Another week, another headline that feels more like a punchline: a drunk volleyball coach crashes [link removed] his SUV and leads firefighters on a three-wheeled chase through Dallas. Bounty hunters [link removed] pretending to be cops shoot a man dead in East Dallas. Road rage [link removed] incidents now require full-blown crackdowns, and police are chasing down scooter-riding burglars caught on Ring cameras.

Dallas PD is short hundreds of officers and barely keeping up. They’ve launched new recruitment efforts [link removed], but with no serious pay raises or support from City Hall, how many will stay? Criminals aren’t waiting for a hiring campaign. They’re exploiting the gap right now.

City leadership doesn’t just ignore the problem, they actively get in the way. QuikTrip tried to donate [link removed] $1.6 million to help improve police training, and City Hall nearly blocked it over bureaucratic red tape. It’s the same pattern: delays, dysfunction, and politics over public safety.

Meanwhile, the city claims it’s solved veteran homelessness, right as an internal audit [link removed] shows it can’t even track basic performance from its contractors. Residents are watching the streets decay while leadership crafts press releases and pats itself on the back.

If you’re tired of watching Dallas spiral while the people in charge do nothing, let them hear it.

**"Murder, Vigilantes, and a $5 Million Lie,**

**What Dallas Won't Admit"**

Executive Director Mark Lutchman breaks down the murder at RedBird Mall, the vigilante shooting that left a man dead in East Dallas, and a damning city audit showing millions wasted on homelessness with no oversight.

While City Hall celebrates press release victories,

**residents are left to deal with all of the fallout.**

DPD Launches Largest Civilian Active Shooter Training in U.S. [link removed]

Dallas Shelter at Capacity as Homeless Crisis Grows [link removed]

With over 8,000 people expected to pass through this year, Dallas is on track for a record-breaking homelessness crisis. Downtown may look cleaner, but shelters are at capacity, and the problem is spilling into neighborhoods citywide.

Bazaldua Opposes Higher Police Standards Over “Diversity” Concerns [link removed]

Dallas just raised the bar for police recruits: age 21+, diploma or GED, and three years of full-time work. Bazaldua pushed back, claiming it would harm diversity efforts. Critics say experience matters more than identity when it comes to public safety.

On Harry Hines, people are camped out on the sidewalk, carts, trash bags, and all. This isn’t a temporary gathering, it’s a permanent fixture.

A sprawling camp hides beneath the overpass near Technology Blvd and I-35, surrounded by dumped tires, graffiti, and steep embankments. This is District 6, Laura Cadena’s district.

A growing camp is tucked into the trees along IH-30, right outside the Government District. Tents, trash, and debris mark the gateway to downtown.

**Mission Statement:**

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
