Dear Patriot,
While you’re taking road trips, hitting the beach, and soaking up the sun this summer...
Officer Jovanny Crespo will be sitting in a prison cell…
paying the price for doing his job.
Will you donate now to help overturn his 27-year sentence and bring him home?
Every police officer knows that split-second moment when your training kicks in and your survival is on the line. A threat appears. A suspect lunges. A weapon flashes. And in that moment—you act, or you don’t go home.
Jovanny Crespo acted.
And now he’s behind bars, sentenced to 27 years, for surviving.
Jovanny was only 26 years old when he made a split-second decision to protect himself and his fellow officers during a high-speed pursuit through Newark. He was facing armed suspects, evasive driving, and the threat of being run down or shot.
He made it home that night.
But not for long.
He was suspended. Then indicted. Then convicted of aggravated manslaughter.
Now, he’s locked away—separated from his four young children and his terminally ill mother. A young father, a devoted son, and a dedicated officer—treated like a criminal for doing what any well-trained cop would have done.
That’s not justice. That’s a disgrace.
My name is Jim Fotis. I’m a former police officer and President of the National Center for Police Defense. I’ve spent more than 40 years defending the men and women of law enforcement, because I’ve seen what happens when politics overrides justice.
And I’m telling you now: if we don’t stand up for Officer Crespo, we’re sending a message to every officer in America: that they’re one traffic stop away from losing everything.
That’s why I need your help.
Officer Crespo’s legal appeal is underway—but we’re almost out of resources.
We need funds to cover filings, court transcripts, and expert legal preparation. And we need them fast.
Will you make an urgent donation to help us fight this unjust conviction?
This isn’t just about one officer.
It’s about the future of policing in America.
We’re watching a system that punishes the protectors and excuses the criminals. We’re watching prosecutors destroy the lives of brave men and women just to score headlines and political points.
We can’t let that continue.
Your gift today sends a message: We back the badge. We believe in justice. And we won’t let heroes like Officer Crespo be forgotten.
Please make a donation to help free this father, this son, this officer, from a sentence he never should have received.
Stand with Officer Crespo now. He stood up for all of us.
Gratefully,
Jim Fotis
President, National Center for Police Defense
P.S. While America celebrates its freedom, Jovanny Crespo is living a nightmare. We’re fighting to bring him home, but we can’t do it without your support. Please rush your donation today. Jovanny and his family are counting on us.
