The Governor signed the budget on Monday June 30, while using his line-item veto power. The budget totals 117.2 million after $567 million in vetoes by the Governor. It includes over $20 million for Palm Beach County to improve roads, water systems, public safety, and mental health services. This includes $2.75 million for better traffic lights on Okeechobee Boulevard and nearly $8 million for projects like sewer and road improvements and support for local community centers.
Governor DeSantis cut about $1.7 million from the county’s budget, including money for fixing drainage on Australian Avenue and housing for the homeless.
Thank you to our legislators for all you do for our area!! Senator Gayle Harrell and Representatives John Snyder, Mike Caruso, Peggy Gossett-Seidman, Anne Gerwig, and Meg Weinberger.
