Dear A.,
The Trump administration is continuing to increase the economic pressure on Iran, following the devastating U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.
The Treasury Department

announced today that it is "taking action against networks that have collectively transported and purchased billions of dollars’ worth of Iranian oil, some of which has benefited Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF), a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization," and is also "sanctioning several vessels engaged in the covert delivery of Iranian oil, intensifying pressure on Iran’s 'shadow fleet.'"
"As President Trump has made clear, Iran’s behavior has left it decimated. While it has had every opportunity to choose peace, its leaders have chosen extremism. Treasury will continue to target Tehran’s revenue sources and intensify economic pressure to disrupt the regime’s access to the financial resources that fuel its destabilizing activities," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent

AIPAC thanks the administration for maintaining maximum economic pressure on the regime. This is essential to solidifying and building on the immense success of the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear program and countering the regime's ongoing threats to America and Israel.

The new sanctions come amid reports that the United States is expected to resume nuclear negotiations with Iran.
White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will resume nuclear talks in Oslo next week, Axios

reported .
Meanwhile, following Iran's formal suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) yesterday, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch (R-ID)

called on America's European allies to snapback sanctions on the Iranian regime:
"The risk of Iran suspending cooperation with [the IAEA] and openly rejecting its nonproliferation obligations has long been a red line for European partners. Iran has shown it is intent to remain a threat to international security. Time to snapback sanctions."
The UK, France and Germany should immediately initiate snapback to reimpose U.N. sanctions and restrictions targeting Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
The United States must lead a global effort of our allies to impose maximum pressure on Iran and fully enforce sanctions, including on oil sales to China, until the regime permanently and verifiably has no domestic enrichment capabilities, abandons its ballistic missile program, and stops funding terror groups.
Trump meets with freed American hostage as progress reported in hostage-ceasefire negotiations
Reports indicate that Hamas may

finally agree to a preliminary U.S.-backed proposal already agreed to by Israel that would see the terror group release some hostages in return for a temporary ceasefire.
The deal would

reportedly require Hamas to release 10 living and 18 deceased hostages in stages over a 60-day ceasefire period. In that time, Israel and Hamas would engage in negotiations to end the war in Gaza.
Even if Hamas agree to the preliminary proposal, further negotiations will likely take place before a deal is finalized,

including over how many Palestinian terrorists will be released from Israeli prison in exchange for the hostages.
The United States must continue to stand with Israel and increase the pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in Qatar, Turkey, and Iran to release all 50 hostages still held in captivity.
Earlier today, President Trump met in the Oval Office with freed American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander of Tenafly, New Jersey. Edan also met with White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other top officials.

Meanwhile, the IDF is continuing its military operations in Gaza, eliminating yesterday the terrorist cell that launched rockets from northern Gaza toward Sderot.
IDF troops continue to eliminate terrorists and dismantle terror infrastructure, tunnels and weapons in both northern and southern Gaza, and over the past day the air force has struck approximately 150 targets throughout the enclave.
New footage of Hamas attacking Gazans as aid efforts continue
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has now

delivered more than 58 million meals to Gazan civilians, including nearly two million

today alone .
"Our infrastructure, routes, and on-the-ground systems can support partners who want to move aid quickly, securely, and with accountability. We’re ready to collaborate. We want to work with anyone serious about getting more aid into Gaza, faster. The need is urgent, and the opportunity to scale impact is right in front of us," GHF interim Executive Director John Acree said, again calling on the United Nations and other NGOs to participate in GHF's aid efforts, instead of continuing to boycott them.
Meanwhile, Israel released footage today showing Hamas' torture and abuse of Gazan civilians, demonstrating again that Hamas cares nothing for the welfare of ordinary Gazans.

Hezbollah significantly degraded as U.S. issues new sanctions
According to a recent report, Hezbollah has lost 10,000 fighters since it joined Hamas in attacking Israel on October 8, 2023.
2,000 abandoned the terror group after Israel eliminated former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, over 3,000 have been wounded, and over 4,000 killed. However, the Iran-backed proxy still has an estimated 60,000 operatives left.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Netanyahu

visited Mossad headquarters yesterday, praising the incredible exploding pager operation that degraded Hezbollah and the intelligence agency's critical work in protecting the Jewish state:
"The Mossad operation with the pagers set in motion everything that happened afterward – the elimination of Nasrallah, the collapse of Assad and our subsequent joint action in removing the immediate existential threat.
"Your contribution was immense. Under the leadership of Mossad Director David Barnea, the agency proved its deep commitment to eliminating the leading minds and striking the Iranian nuclear program.
"Your phenomenal achievements combined very well with the great achievements of the IDF. This was a very great force multiplier.
"I commend you for your major and ongoing contribution to the security of Israel."

Today, the Treasury Department sanctioned seven senior officials and one entity linked with a financial institution controlled by Hezbollah and used to evade U.S. sanctions.
"As Hezbollah seeks money to rebuild its operations, Treasury remains strongly committed to dismantling the group’s financial infrastructure and limiting its ability to reconstitute itself," Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkender
