Dear John ,
Though Immigrant Heritage Month has come to a close, for those of us at New American Leaders, we continue to honor and celebrate immigrant heritage each and every day. It’s at the heart of all we do.
For 15 years, we have stood alongside first- and second-generation Americans as they’ve stepped forward to lead, make history, and shape a democracy that truly represents us all. Democracy has always needed immigrants—our voices, our dreams, our courage—and that truth is more urgent now than ever.
Currently, our immigrant communities are facing significant challenges, testing their resilience in profound ways. Yet, despite every obstacle, we have come to this country from far and wide, drawn by the hope of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I am inspired every day by the resilience and determination that define us, and I have no doubt that we will continue to rise, to persevere, and to win. Across the country, communities are galvanizing their love and support of their immigrant neighbors, family and friends, and a new generation of leaders is discovering that spark to enact the change their communities need and it fills me with so much hope.

We are proud to be an organization built by and for immigrant communities.
We are proud to be a movement more determined than ever to ensure that immigrant voices are heard and valued.
And most importantly: we are proud to be your home for leadership, empowerment, and solidarity.
It is a privilege to do this work—to stand with nearly 2,000 New Americans we have trained to run for office, win, and lead at every level of government. To work alongside alumni, partners, and supporters who believe deeply in the power and promise of immigrant leadership. And to be part of a movement that will never stop fighting for a democracy that belongs to all of us.
Thank you for being in this work with us. The road ahead is not easy, but together, we will move forward—with courage, solidarity, and hope. As we go into the Independence Day weekend, we’re reminded that our democracy was built by people coming to this country looking to build a better life, and we’re proud to continue that work in building a democracy that works for ALL of us.
With solidarity and gratitude,
Ghida Dagher
